Retirement benefits are guaranteed for the lifetime of the member.
The retirement option selected can be changed or the retirement application can be rescinded only until the close of business on the last business day prior to the effective date of retirement. Optional selections may be chosen at the time of retirement. See the Retirement Benefit Selection Options Fact Sheet for information regarding the options offered by the ERS below.
